Monthly Progress Report #31

Summer is flying by! I can’t believe July is in the rear view already.

July is probably my favorite month. And this one lived up to expectations even if it has been a little cold and rainy these past few weeks. The 4th was a lot of fun with a BBQ, pool party and fireworks (I LOVE fireworks!).

We even rekindled game night this month for the first time since COVID started. It was great to get a group of us together and have some fun again.

I’m also still enjoying the fact that my best friend is back home! We’re talking about doing a podcast together. I don’t know much about podcasting and not surprisingly I’d rather write than talk but I’m willing to try something new!

Who knows, maybe I’ll be a better podcaster than blogger? At least I’ll have someone besides myself to hold me accountable.

Don’t worry, I’ll let you know how it goes!

My first month of work back in the office went better than expected too! Talk about a different world from last month though - I have to actually get dressed and leave the house! The only bad thing about going back to work has been leaving Otto Stanley home but he seems to be enjoying hanging out with my dad.

Ok, ok, enough about me.. on to the main event!

Need to catch up? Have a look at last month’s progress report.

Let’s start with the debt:

Mortgage: $167,700
Car Loan: $26,200
Student Loans: $6,200
Credit Cards: $1,900
Grand Total of Debt: $202,000

My student loan balances

That’s $900 paid down during the month of July. Which is good but could have been better.

We had a trip to the emergency vet (definitely not complaining too much here… luckily our Little Man is ok! Just a scary experience!) and my car insurance was due which prevented me from making any real progress on my credit card balances. Hopefully soon.

There’s been no change to my savings:

Savings account: $2,900
P2P Lending account: $100
Investment account: $1,800
Grand Total of Savings: $4,800

Sooo that’s a bit of a bummer too. I should have been able to add to my savings this past month but unfortunately it just didn’t happen. I’m hoping my savings will start to grow one of these days!

I’m off to start my podcast adventure! We have a rough outline, topic ideas and our equipment ordered! Anyone have any tips or tricks on how to make a great podcast? I’m lucky that Becca has a knack for marketing and has created a bit of a following already.. if only I paid more attention during my marketing classes!

Wish us luck!

As always -

Remember, we will get through this ❤️
